  7. The Lakota integration language is a portable command-line interpreter. Lakota
  8. provides a convenient way to build applications or tie applications together.
  9. The language has modern programming language features and is free of operating
  10. system dependent syntax. Lakota can be called from any application, giving you
  11. a reusable and common interfacing capability
  12.  
  13. Routines can be called by any application and may reside in files or be built
  14. in memory by an executing application. An application can have one or more
  15. separate execution frames (processes) in which activities can be executed,
  16. independent of each other. The language is easy to read, easy to write, and
  17. executes many times faster than interpreted code without requiring compilation.
  18. The Lakota language kernel can execute native Lakota language commands, pass
  19. commands to the host operating system, and execute user-defined commands.
